When we are bogged down in our own frustration or anger, it can be incredibly difficult to step back and listen from a very wide open place. This is why a reference point of being gentle on yourself, and validating all that is happening is crucial.
From this place of open listening and validation, we can actually allow room for that which is wanting to be heard, to come through.
It is important to remember that you are a sensitive being. That you are feeling all kinds of things in your body that are not just your own. If you come at it from that point of view, then when frustration builds, you can stop for a second to ask - is this mine or is there another source? What do I need to listen to? How can I invite this listening in? This approach can really help you to get a bit of distance from it, and be able to feel spaciousness around the frustration.
This in itself can mean that things start moving again - frustration and pain in our body is so often a sign of something that is needing to be listened to. And if we invite those answers in from a place of openness, it is amazing what we can learn, and what can shift.
